Wim Botha

Busts & Solipsis special edition

Wim Botha has been producing busts since his first solo exhibition at Stevenson in 2003, carved from stacks of bibles, dictionaries and encyclopedias, from wood and, increasingly abstracted, cast in bronze. The development of this distinctive artform over the course of almost a decade is traced in Busts 2003-2012, while Solipsis I-V reproduces five polystyrene, fluorescent light and wood installations made in 2011-2012. (Click on the titles for more information about each book.)

This special edition boxed set brings together these two catalogues, bound with hard covers, each featuring an original ink drawing by the artist on the cover. The signed and numbered books are presented in a black box, foiled with the artist's name, in an edition of 10.
